A Queen’s Scout

In 1966, Cllr Brian Cossey achieved the highest award in Scouting, the Queen’s Scout Badge, now called the Queen’s Scout Award. He was part of the 7th Colwyn Bay Friendship Club, and had this photo taken to commemorate the occasion.

This award started life as the King’s Scout Badge, before the Queen approved the change of name to the Queen’s Scout Badge in 1952.

1966 was the last year the achievement was called the Queen’s Scout Badge, the following year the name changed to the Queen’s Scout Award.
